Playground Fundraising Complete!
A message from Playground Project Coordinator, Tracy Lebel:
All our fundraising is done and successful! With our hot dog lunch on Tuesday, we raised close to $1300! We also had popcorn sales at the library this weekend (bringing in $200), and the Sieben family held a garage sale for us (bringing in over $100). In conjunction with a great turnout for Buy-A-Brick last week, popcorn sales at the end of May, track meet lunch, and cookie and freezie sales, we have now raised all the money we needed for the playground! Yay! We did it!
A huge thank you goes out to the families who helped us with playground demolition this past weekend: Hurren, Pettefer, Barter, Siebert, Kostiak, Hennig, Mahe, Shanmugam, Lenderbeck, Smith, Willson, VanderStraten and Veldhuis.
A special thanks to Shawn Hurren and Al Petterfer for working all Sunday on ground work for us and to AB Gill Trucking for removing six large truckloads of waste material for us. The large playground site is now bare and ready for new stuff. Construction of the new playgrounds starts this Monday.
