False Fire Alarm

January 15, 2020 - We just wanted to keep you in the loop on some activity this morning at École Meridian Heights School. Meridian's day was interrupted by an unexpected fire alarm.

The alarm system worked properly and the building was evacuated as precautionary measures were taken to ensure the safety of all students and staff. The cause of the alarm was a heat sensor in a storage room. The building was cleared and students were temporarily moved across the street the Connections for Learning and students were allowed to return to regular activities shortly after this discovery. The students evacuated shortly before 9am and were back in the school by 9:30am.

Thanks to the students and staff for their quick response and many thanks to Parkland School Division's Facilities Services department for their prompt response as well.

We are committed to providing safe and caring places for all students to learn. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the school.
